How to Start a Bullet Journal

Today I'm going to be sharing with you all how to start a bullet journal. I have a serious obsession with planning and with pens and all things stationary. Bullet journals have been the answer to a lot people's planning problems, because they are completely personalized and really fun.

The first thing you'll need are pens. My personal preference are the pilot G2 pens. I love the fine ones for basic writing, and the ultra fine ones are awesome for writing in small spaces like your planner. These are the number one selling pens in America, and for good reason. They write so smoothly and the ink stays in place and doesn't bleed. I love them so much. I've used them since high school and will probably use them until I die. They have fifteen different colors, making it a perfect choice for bullet journals. You can currently get 75 cents off one pack of 4 or larger pens here.

Then you'll also need a grid journal. This one I got off Amazon, and its just your basic grid notebook. It's got thick pages so you don't see through them so I love it.

The first page you'll want to create is the index. Use this as a table of contents to keep track of what pages are what. Most times you will only use one page for a month or a week, but some you may want to refer back to for months to come.

Then you can create all the spreads you want. There's tons of articles and videos that show you spread ideas, but I'll show you a couple of mine. This is one that I do for each month, I put all the dates to the left and write any important events or information on the day that it occurs!

Another spread I like to do is my weekly workouts. I've gotten way back into fitness and exercise recently, so I've been keeping track of my workouts in my bullet journal.

Heres where I found my Pilot G2 pens in the pen aisle at Target!

All in all, bullet journals are a fantastic way to plan out your day, week or month. You can also use them for school, for exercise, for work, for finance, really the options are endless!
